The Centre for Migration Studies and Intercultural Relations presented the INTER4REF project during European Researchers’ Night 2019.
During the event, Cemyri had the chance to present its main projects and activities related to our current social situation and which are interesting in order to:
– Know the situation of mediators and interpreters who work with refugees and try to come up with different solutions;
-Promote and raise awareness about the benefits of early and effective integration of Third Country Nationals in the labour market;
-Improve the integration of immigrants’ children especially in the academic field as well as the educational systems in the towns of Prato and Ravenna (Italy).
The activity organised every year by OTRI (Result Research Transfer Office) turned into the perfect occasion for families and young people who approached our stand to be more aware about the subject, to empathise with the situation and needs of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers and to have a minute to reflect on all the complex challenges that managing cultural diversity presents in a refugees’ crisis context and the urgent need to provide with possible solutions, taking down fake rumours or stereotypes about immigrants.
In this 10th edition of the Researchers’ Night, more than 57 activities were displayed with 588 researchers and thousands of people approaching the different stands located in the Rambla Federico García Lorca (Almería)
